I hope you all had as good a weekend as I did. The wedding yesterday was simply lovely. From start to finish all went well. The bride was beautiful and it was a happy day for anyone lucky enough to be there. The weather was very nice but it didn't really matter since all events were inside.
My jacket was finished in time and worked well with the dress. Now I'm on to my next project. I will be planning and sorting projects this week since I must take my machine in for service. So hard to give it up.
And now for the giveaway news. SewMamaSew is hosting a May giveaway and many bloggers are registered. You can find the list of participants on her blog at
http://sewmamasew.com
Click on blog at the top to get the full list of participants.
I have decided to join in so here is my giveaway for this event.
First is a set of Blocks of the Month. There are 9 out of a set of 12 plus 3 smaller blocks. I bought these when I first started quilting and find that my quilting personality and preference has changed. They are very pretty and each block has all the fabric you need for the block.
A Kaye England quilt pattern. I thought this went with the BOM's but looking closer, it is just a very pretty pattern. But you might get some ideas for setting these blocks.
3 1/2 yards of fabric. Again, my quilting style has changed a bit. And I really need to clean out my stash!
One last little bonus, this really pretty patchwork glass cutting board. For those who live in the east, I found it at The Christmas Tree Shop. "Don't you just love a bargain!"
Now, you can enter by simply leaving a comment on this post. You might even tell me what you think is the best part of a wedding.
I would love to have you join me as a new follower but for this giveaway that won't improve your chances. We are keeping this one simple!
The winner will be chosen by Random Number Generator and giveaway closes at 9:00 pm on Wednesday, May 25th. Please be sure there is a way to contact you. International entrants are welcome.
Good luck to everyone and be sure to check out the list and visit the other bloggers!

ReplyDeleteFamily and friends are the best part of the wedding. Forget the big celebration... my hubby and I married on a Friday afternoon at a friends house - about 10 of our church's singles group. It was pot luck, simple, cheap, and wow, that was 10 years ago already - in two more days anyway.

ReplyDeletefavourite part of a wedding- watching the happy couple at random times throughout the events. when they are just so plainly happy and in love with each other. :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome giveaway! Thanks so much! I actually don't have much experience with weddings other than planning my own right now. I think I've only ever been to 3 and I wouldn't really count 2 of those because I was about 3 for the first and maybe 10 for the second. So, I guess from my limited experience, my favourite part of the wedding is the anticipation. I'm constantly looking for new wedding inspiration and DIY ideas and I get more and more excited every day!!
ReplyDeleteI've only been to a few weddings and they were a long time ago so I don't remember what the best parts were.
ReplyDeleteThe best part of the wedding is visiting with everyone at the reception.

ReplyDeletelydia(dot)hirschi(at)gmail(dot)com
Wow, awesome giveaway! Thanks for being so generous!
ReplyDeleteUm. Best part of a wedding? My standard answer would be the cake. After attending 6 over a few months, I'd have said "going home"....
the best part of a wedding is when the bride and groom kiss for the first time as man and wife. I always think "you'll never love each other as much as you do in this moment"
ReplyDeleteI occasionally photograph weddings so I've been to several. My favorite part is the details. I love the differences in flowers, decoraitons, shoes etc.

ReplyDeleteThe best part of a wedding is realizing how a simple word or phrase just made a legal marriage and changed your life.
ReplyDeleteThe best part of a wedding- is the cake. For lack of a better word, could you tell me the name of that "swastika" looking block? (middle block bottom row) Every picture I have of my GGGgrandmother there is a hanging quilt used as a backdrop. One of them is made of that block and I'd love to know the name.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win. The best part of the wedding is the bride walking down the aisle with her Dad. For me that will be a moment I will never forget about my daughter's wedding, brings tears to my eyes now and she has been married 11 years!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your extention. I feel like a high school student who is handing in their homework late, just to have the teacher have mercy on their report card :) Maybe everyone can extend their deadline next time. It's getting too big for just 3 days :) So, thank you. Favorite part of the wedding is the young ringbearer or flower girl. I love seeing how children handle the treat of carrying the all important ring pillow or dishing out petals from a basket by the handfuls. I also imagine what they will look like 20 yrs into the future at their own wedding and will they remember this moment. Thank you for a very generous giveaway. Lots of great sewing yummies! ps. Wegmans countdown has started here (Northern Maryland) as it opens in 2 weeks! whoo hoo!
